The Guys From Minaal Scratched Their Own Itch And Kick Started Their Business

doug and jimmy

This is a first for Imageneralist.com but certainly not the last, an interview from the Generalist trenches. Doug and Jimmy two New Zealanders dissatisfied with the business travel bags on offer had a great idea, lets make our own!

Jimmy talks about the process from idea to shippable product. How did two young guys with no product experience design, fund, manufacture, and ultimately ship a great travel bag?

What did they learn along the way, what were the tools they used, and is this something you could do? Doug and Jimmy are on the frontier of the new way business is being done. Working remotely with people around the world, using new ways to raise money, telling and sharing their story as a marketing tool.

Have a listen, I hope you enjoy it. If you want to keep up with what Jimmy is up to check out Minaal.com or follow them on Twitter @minaal

(Sorry audio not the best, working on it)

Cheers @Generalistalan

When they realized that they had to fill the need for better gear, Jimmy and Doug decided to quit their jobs in order to create products that make traveling faster, happier, and more efficient. On this week’s episode, Jimmy shares the journey that he and Doug went on while creating the Minaal carry-on bag.
